May 19 for Blessing of the Bikers
Habitat for Humanity of Clinton County invites mid-Michigan motorcycle enthusiasts to twist the throttle Saturday, May 19, with its 2nd annual Blessing of the Bikers at Motz County Park in St. Johns.
With support from Road Riders for Jesus, this fully customized Habitat fundraiser offers a charity ride, motorcycle show, slow drag races, live bands, door prizes and commemorative T-shirts. The 3-hour event kick starts at 9:30 am. Charity ride, show and T-shirt donation packages available at on-site registration.
Flex some heavy metal muscle by entering your sweet ride in the Habitat Motorcycle Show, sponsored and ruled by Hammer in Hand Custom Cycles. Bikers register their rides between 9:30 to 11:15am. Hammer in Hand fired up the torches to design one-of-a-kind trophies and the top three winners earn prize packages as well as “shelf bling.”
Riders rev their motors and test their clutch control in the Slow Drag Race. Last to the line in this elimination contest wins the prize.
Gear up with a ride-rocking commemorative T-shirt, sporting original art by Laura Bishop of Locale Media. Anyone can own this Old School ride while supplies last.
The roar of life-saving loud pipes won’t be the only music in the wind because live bands perform throughout the event. Tank up on site with drinks and snacks at the Blessing, but save your appetite for the Charity Ride destination.
Free door prize drawings cruise along every half hour from 10am to noon. Prizes include $25 gas cards, and sponsor coupons and gift certificates.
Blessing of the Bikers redlines at noon, officiated by Road Riders for Jesus Pastor Steve Hale. Newly blessed riders saddle up by 12:30pm to set their own pace or take the Charity Ride with Capitol Area HOG #2280 Road Captains to Capitol Harley-Davidson in Dimondale where lunch is served and the party continues until 3 pm.
Habitat’s May 19 Blessing of the Bikers is fueled by Agro-Culture Liquid Fertilizers, Barber’s Floors & More, Capitol Harley-Davidson, Hammer in Hand Custom Cycles, Locale Media, Midstate Title Agency, Pauli Ford, Ryan’s Roadhouse and Sparrow Clinton Hospital, with support from Capitol Area HOG #2280, Road Riders for Jesus and Wild Hogettes.
All event proceeds benefit Habitat for Humanity of Clinton County. Motz County Park at 4630 N. DeWitt Road in St. Johns is fully paved and handicap accessible.
