Oct. 6-7
Decorated pumpkins, pumpkin races and pumpkin treats – what could be more perfect for an autumn weekend.
Pumpkins will be everywhere at Andy T’s Pumpkin Festival 2012 set for the weekend of October 6-7 at the farm market located at 3131 South BR-127 just south of St. Johns. Lots of family-friendly activities are planned once again this year like the Decorated Pumpkin Contest, Pumpkin Trot, children’s games and hayrides through the pumpkin patch.
The fun actually begins Thursday, October 4, in advance of weekend activities when all those decorated pumpkins are set for check-in at Andy T’s from 4 to 9 p.m. The pumpkins will be on display all day Friday, October 5.
Pumpkin Fest Kids Day on Saturday, October 6, features the noon arrival of a helicopter and lots of kid-friendly activities like pumpkin carnival games, face painting, duck races and “bowling pumpkins.” Andy T’s six-acre corn maze is just the right size for kids and families. There’s also a blow-up maze for young Pumpkin Fest guests, and hayrides are ongoing throughout the afternoon.
The St. Johns Lions Club food wagon will be on site selling tasty food items. Andy T’s home-made baked goods and hand-dipped caramel apples will also be available for purchase.
Prizes and participation certificates for the Decorated Pumpkin Contest will be awarded at 4 p.m.
