Family and friends hold fundraiser – update

Chris Whitford
This comes to us from Chris: “Thanks to everyone for your well wishes and support. I’ve finally as of yesterday made it out of the hospital. I’m happy for my beautiful wife and two wonderful kids, Macy and Fletcher. What a whirlwind my life has been the past week. I’m happy that I am still here despite that I can’t really use my hand. I have a long road ahead of me with PT, OT and speech but I’m sure I’ll make a fast recovery. Once again though, thank you to all.”
Thank you so much to everyone who has already donated, who has said a prayer, sent a card, or posted encouragement here on Facebook. We all appreciate you!! Chris’ Corner is doing well thanks to all of you. If you haven’t had the opportunity to check it out, click the link below. Chris and Bethany will have a lot of medical expenses to cover as well as regular expenses as Chris is off work. Please consider helping if you can. If you can’t, continued prayers are always welcome.

Chris Whitford suffered a severe stroke on Sunday, May 19th. Chris is a graduate of St. Johns High School. He and his wife, Bethany, have two small children.
Sunday, May 19th was just a normal day of outdoor activities and family fun. Chris spent the day with friends mushroom hunting and spending time with his kids. In the early evening he started feeling a little off, but really didn’t think much of it. He went home to bed, hoping to feel better in the morning.

Monday when he woke up it was clear that something wasn’t right. He tried to go to work as usual, but when he arrived at his carpool it was clear that he needed immediate medical attention. He was rushed to Sparrow Hospital where it was determined that he had suffered a stroke.
He has lost mobility and coordination on his right side. He is already in the process of rehabilitation.
Family members are creating a fundrasier to help him and his wife, Bethany, with the medical expenses they will incur during his recovery.
