Lions sponsor Back to School Project

August 21
On Wednesday August 21st the Back to School/ Project connect program for Clinton County will take place at Smith Hall on the 4-H Fairgrounds.
The event is for needy and homeless families that reside in Clinton County, providing their children with clothing, school supplies, medical and other services. It is sponsored by the Clinton County Housing and Homeless Coalition, The Great Start Collaboration and Parent Coalition, and Michigan State Cooperative Extension Service Connecting Youth Program.
Last year there were over 500 people registered for the event. Again this year, the St. Johns Lions club will serve lunch to the attendees. The club will also do PEEK eye exams on preschoolers from the needy families attending the event. Eye exams will start at 10:00 AM.
The Lions will begin staffing the food trailer from 10:30 AM to 1:00 PM. All of the food will be provided by Project Connect.
