Maureen Bishop Gilna
Encouraged and inspired by her family and friends, Maureen Bishop Gilna has put to pen her near death experience of 1973.
In the spring of 1973 Maureen became critically ill. Death appeared imminent. It was at this time she, her family and community shared and became part of a miracle. Maureen allows the reader to share the spiritual moments of her near death experience. She provides to the reader a first person example that will help a reader feel less afraid of dying than they might have been prior to reading the book.
Since she focuses mostly on the positive side of her situation, her story hopes to appeal to a variety of people from a variety of age groups. She wishes for the reader not to fear death but embrace it as a journey into a new life.
Born in St. Johns Michigan, Maureen came to Owosso with her parents Frank and Frances (Hufnagel) Bishop when she was two years old. She graduated from Owosso Public Schools. In 1958 she married Richard Gilna and became partner in a Registered Holstein Dairy farm east of Corunna, Mi. They have four children and six grandchildren.

The book’s title is: “Be Not Afraid in the Presence of His Light.
