Nancy A. Barrett
Nancy A. Barrett, 76 went to be with her Lord on Saturday, December 28, 2013. Nancy was born on July 20, 1937 in St. Johns the daughter of Ray and Nell (Gallagher) Osborn. She graduated from Rodney B. Wilson High School in 1955 and on June 3, 1961 she married Keith A. Barrett in St. Johns. Nancy had worked with her father at the Gamble Store for several years and at the Silk Petal flower shop. She was a devout member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, enjoyed knitting, puzzles, playing cards, doing volunteer work at the St. Vincent De Paul Store, and Clinton Memorial Hospital, working elections and especially spending time at the cottage at Lake City and being with her family. In 1994 Nancy donated one of her kidneys to her son, Kevin.
Nancy is survived by her husband Keith. Children, Brian (Karen) Barrett of Haslett, MI, Kevin (Debra) Barrett of Berrien Center, MI., Susan (John) Trudeau of Mt. Pleasant, MI., and Craig (Karyn) Barrett of Eaton Rapids, MI; grandchildren, Allison, Kyle, Jami and Nikolas Barrett; Marcie, Brandon, Brittnie, and Monica Barrett; Alexis and Eddie Trudeau and Ethan and Kaleigh Barrett; several nieces and nephews and her brothers, Richard Osborn of MN and Fr. Douglas Osborn of DeWitt, MI. She was preceded in death by her sister Marcia Puhlman, sister-in-law Karol Richards, her parents Ray and Nell Osborn and parents-in-law, Jay and Grace Barrett.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Thursday, January 2, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. with Fr. Douglas Osborn officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Rest Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives at Keck-Coleman Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 31, 2013, 3 to 7 P.M. and on Wednesday, January 1, 2014, 4-8 P.M. A Rosary will be prayed on Wednesday evening at 7:00 P.M. Memorials may be given to St. Vincent De Paul or St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Carolyn M. Geer
Carolyn M. Geer died Friday, December 27, 2013 at the age of 67. She was born March 2, 1946 in Rock Springs, WY the daughter of Ralph and Mabel Archuleta. Carolyn was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Ovid and was a retired clerical worker for the State of Michigan working in several departments.
Surviving is her husband Thomas; one son, Daniel (Tina) Geer of St. Johns; eleven step children, Leroy (Jeanette) Geer of Bridgeville, MI, Diane Geer, Tim (Thelma) Geer, Sue (Dean) Schultz, and Harvey Geer all of Maple Rapids, Bill (Brenda) Geer and Richard Geer(Dee Humble) all of St. Johns, Betty (Richard) Burgdorf of Ashley, Cindy (Charles) Smith of Midland, MI, and Hanna and Ciarra Jackson of Ovid; many grand and great grandchildren; one sister, Gloria (Frank) Kaeding of WY; three brothers, Michael Archuleta of NJ, Ralph (Lucy) Archuleta of CA, Robert (Debra) Archuleta of UT and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Louise and Kathryn and one sister-in-law, Jeri.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 am Saturday, January 4, 2014 at Holy Family Catholic Church 620 N. Mabbit Rd. Ovid, MI 48866 with Rev. Fr. Raymond Urbanek as Celebrant. The family will receive relatives and friends 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 pm Friday, January 3 with a Rosary prayed at 7:00 pm at Keck-Coleman Funeral Home, St. Johns. Memorials may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church.
James R. Fedewa
James R. Fedewa Westphalia Age 79, passed away on Friday, December 27, 2013. He was born on July 17, 1934 in Riley Township, MI the son of Joseph P. and Elizabeth (Thelen) Fedewa. Mr. Fedewa married MaryAnn Lehman on September 8, 1956, and together they shared 57 years of marriage. James was Knights of Columbus Past Grand Knight, Past State Deputy, and former Vice Supreme Master of Hennepin Province. He owned Fedewa Builders, Fedewa Enterprise, Fedewa Redi-Mix, and Fedewa Realty, where he was a mentor with an open door policy for any agent who needed assistance. James coordinated the building of Droste Park in Westphalia, as well as Town & Country Food Center in Westphalia, of which he was an owner. He was a wonderful carpenter and avid boater.
Surviving are his wife, MaryAnn Fedewa; children, Steven (Marie) Fedewa, Betty (Jeff) Bedard, Geri (Carl) Jastram, MaryJo (Tim) Halfman, Patti Fedewa, David (Ane) Fedewa, Lori (Chris) Kindsvatter, and Debbie (John) Feldpausch; 21 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; siblings, Margaret Thelen, Msg. Sylvester Fedewa, Sister Joanne Fedewa, Fr. Matthew Fedewa, and Joseph (Janice) Fedewa. Preceding him in death were his parents; granddaughter, Deidre Westpfahl; great grandson, Gabriel Reynolds; brother, Leo Fedewa; sisters, Bernita Vitek, Mary Smith, Odelia Thelen, and Catherine VanAcker.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be con-celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Westphalia. Rite of Committal will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Westphalia. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at the St. Mary’s Funeral Chapel, 210 N. Westphalia Street, Westphalia. Rosaries will be prayed at 7 p.m. Sunday and 3 p.m. Monday, and a Scriptural Wake Service held at 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral chapel. Arrangements are entrusted to Lehman Funeral Homes, Portland.
Andrea Lucille Kurth
Andrea Lucille Kurth, 57 died suddenly on December 26, 2013. Andrea was born on November 21, 1956 in St. Johns, MI the daughter of James and Evelyn (Foote) Boyce. She graduated from St. Johns High School in 1975 and from Michigan State University with a BS in clothing and textile management. Andrea had worked for Bank of America as a customer service rep. She married Kenneth Douglas Kurth in Warren, MI on September 4, 1982. Andrea enjoyed quilting, baking and cooking, gardening and her flower gardens. She was a member of the Wacousta O.E.S. #133.
She is survived by her husband K. Douglas Kurth, sons Ian D. of Lansing and Nathan J. of St. Johns; brothers, Maynard Boyce of Florida and Gary Boyce of Grand Ledge, MI and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Lowell and sister Eileen Boyce.
Funeral services will be held at Keck-Coleman Funeral Home, St. Johns on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Chris Bones officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Rest Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives at the funeral home on Monday, December 30, 2013, 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. O.E.S. services will be held on Monday evening at 7:00 P.M. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
Anastasia P. Hanley
Anastasia P. “Stacey” Hanley died peacefully Wednesday, December 25, 2013 at the age of 91. She was born January 4, 1922 in Rochester, N.Y. the daughter of Michael and Ana Pankiw. Stacey grew up in Rochester and moved to Detroit with her sister Helen to work, where she met her husband George. She lived in Detroit, Northville and Rochester Hills and was active in many social and school activities as well as contributed many volunteer hours to local hospitals and children’s aid groups. She loved to travel and was very proud of obtaining a college degree later in her life.
Surviving are her children, John (Patty), Bill and Mary (Larry) Machacek; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and aunt of many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband George and all six of her siblings.

William Graves
William Graves, age 61 of St. Johns passed away Tuesday, December 24, 2013 at his home.
A graveside service will be held at 1pm on April 12, 2014 at Middlebury Township Cemetery.
William was born April 24, 1952 in Owosso, the son of Russell and Wavia (Kidd) Graves. He graduated from Grand Blanc High School, attended Northwestern Michigan University and served in the United States Navy. William married Patricia Perry in Toledo, Ohio on December 31, 1984. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and looked forward to traveling and camping trips. William was an Auto Tech for 40 years.
He is survived by his wife Patricia; children Christine, William II Graves, Angela (Tim) Hayes and Amy (Bill) Perry; 9 grandchildren and one on the way; mother Wavia Graves; mother-in-law Jean Perry; brothers Gene (Romaine) Graves and Gary (Patricia) Graves; brother-in-law Steve (Paula) Perry; many nieces, nephews and other loving family members. William was predeceased by his father Russell Graves and father-in-law Ted Perry.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Great Lakes Hospice. The family was served by Nelson House Funeral Home, Owosso.
Stephen R. Bladowski
Stephen R. Bladowski, 58 of Eagle, MI died on Tuesday, December 24, 2013 at Sparrow Hospital, Lansing, MI. Stephen was born on April 6, 1955 in Jackson, MI the son of Alfons and Elizabeth (Jacobs) Bladowski. He graduated from Lumen Christi High School and Western Michigan University with his BA degree. On August 22, 1998 he married Susan M. Bearup in Eaton Rapids, MI. Stephen worked for Lufkin Industries, Lufkin, TX as Vice President of Sales, attended the Church of Christ in Grand Ledge, was an avid golfer, enjoyed sports, fishing, vacationing and spending time with his family.
Survived by his loving wife Susan, and their devoted children, Cole and Sloan, his parents Alfons and Elizabeth Bladowski of Jackson, MI, brother David (Darla) Bladowski of Saline, MI and Breanna; sister Christina (Paul) Manser and Kelly, Ryan and Kevin of Grand Rapids. Parents-in-law, Jim and Kathleen Bearup of Elsie, sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary (Kevin) Pease, Nathan and Lacy; David (Kim) Bearup and Katie and Matthew all of Elsie, James (Shauna) Bearup, and Alyssa, Ashley, Gracie of Newaygo, MI.
Funeral services will be held at Keck-Coleman Funeral Home, St. Johns on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Bill Horton officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Elsie, MI. The family will receive friends and relatives at the funeral home on Friday, December 27, 2013, 5-8 P.M. and on Saturday, 10:00 A.M. until service time.
