“Government’s first and highest priority is to maintain the safety of our communities, and I can say without any reservation that Mike is the clear choice for Clinton County District Court Judge,” Sherman says, noting Clarizio’s over 23 years of service as a Clinton County Assistant Prosecuting Attorney. “Mike has tried the most difficult cases and has brought the worst offenders to justice. He has protected the most vulnerable victims and is deeply committed to serving our communities.”
Sheriff Kangas cited those achievements as reasons why Clarizio is held in high regard by law enforcement agencies across the county.
“Mike has always made sure that everyone who comes in contact with the judicial system is treated fairly, and he has a long history of being involved in community affairs that has earned the respect of law enforcement officers in Clinton County.”
Sherman agrees, saying, “As a public prosecutor, Mike has earned the trust and respect of the Clinton County legal and law enforcement communities. He truly understands what the citizens of Clinton County expect and deserve from the bench.”
As a senior criminal trial attorney, Clarizio is in District Court on an almost daily basis where he has prosecuted upwards of 8,000 misdemeanors, felonies and civil infractions. He has convicted murderers, child molesters, rapists, armed robbers, drug dealers and/or embezzlers, and is appreciative of the team effort involving law enforcement and legal personnel that helped him attain those convictions.
“For the past 23 years, I have worked with our outstanding public servants in legal and law enforcement agencies to protect the citizens of Clinton County, and I know how to handle the large case load that’s required of a District Court judge,” he says.”I believe it is important to represent the rights of innocent victims and to use my legal skills and knowledge to protect our communities from crime.”
Clarizio is a past recipient of the Harold B. Reed Award which is presented annually by the Clinton County Bar Association to the attorney who displays the highest degree of skill, professionalism and courtesy in the practice of law. He has received certificates of appreciation from the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office, and has been recognized by Sherman for exemplary service and dedication to providing quality services and fair treatment to victims of crime.
“I have known Mike for over 20 years, and his knowledge of the law and experience will make him a great District Court Judge,” Kangas says.
Sherman expands on that belief in his endorsement, stating, “I urge all citizens of Clinton County to vote for Mike Clarizio for District Court Judge so we can continue working to make Clinton County a great place to live and raise our families.”
