Open House December 6
When Arts Council members review the upcoming schedule of events – including a Michigan Mint sale, a Christmas Open House, and a holiday home tour – there might be a collective gasp. But apprehension is allayed with assurances from director Mike Muehlenbeck that, as with previous holiday periods, the ambitious agenda is completed without a hitch. Adding to that note is the comfort knowing that events through the entire month of December are sponsored by the First Congregational Church of St. Johns.
“It’s a busy time, to be certain,” commented Muehlenbeck, “but it’s exciting and festive. We’re most grateful to First Congregational Church – as well as all of our sponsors – for their support and endorsement of our activities.”

The annual Michigan Mint candy sale at the Gallery is but one event in a cluster of holiday activities on the agenda of Clinton County Arts Council.
Leading off the list will be the annual Christmas Michigan Mint sale, featuring, of course, locally produced Hanover chocolates. A large assortment of dark, milk and cherry mints will be available and all are on display at the Gallery. Orders must be in by Saturday Nov. 19. Selections range from $3.50 to $20.00.
Following the Michigan mint sale, the annual Christmas Open House at the Gallery will be held Tuesday December 6 from 6p to 8:30p. This event opens the Christmas season at the Gallery where a delightful assortment of gift opportunities is being offered. And to assist in that giving, free gift wrapping will be available during the open house as will refreshments and luscious treats.
Capping the list of holiday occasions is a fund raising Christmas Wonderland Home Tour at Muehlenbeck’s home. This event is set for Thursday Dec. 29 and only pre-sold tickets will be available. Every room will be adorned with Christmas spirit, inspired by imaginative decorations. The price of $20.00 per ticket includes a hand-painted ornament.
“This event is a first for us,” Muehlenbeck said, “and all proceeds will go to further the many projects of the Arts Council. We look forward to an eventful holiday season and a successful Christmas Wonderland Home tour.”
