CCH welcomes the first baby of 2012

The first baby to be born at Carson City Hospital made a grand entrance at 10:21 p.m. on Jan. 5.

Kristen Barber and Jesse DeWald of Crystal are the proud parents of Lila DeWald, weighing six pounds and 12 ounces at birth.
CCH staff presented the Barber – DeWald family with a gift basket full of baby items donated by several hospital departments and community businesses, including: the Carson Apothecary and Gift Shoppe, Michigan One Community Credit Union, Lola’s Flower Garden, Alley-T, Carson Village Market, Barnes Hardware, the Center for Women’s HealthCare, and hospital departments: Volunteer Services, Pediatric and Adolescent Specialists, and Public Relations.
“We were surprised to have the first baby born at CCH! We thought there would have been at least one other baby born here before Lila,” said Barber.
Lila was delivered by Dr. Erin LeGrand of the Center for Women’s HealthCare.
“It was such a pleasure to be a part of this exciting moment for our hospital and the Barber-DeWald family,” said Dr. LeGrand. “They have a beautiful baby! We are very happy when we have a healthy little baby and happy parents. There is always something special about the first baby that is born in the new year.”
