Lamar Hunt owned Hunt’s Drug Store at 110 N. Clinton Ave. Bill Beechler, owner of the Clinton Theater, also worked there at one time. Today it’s Shaggie’s Ice Cream. In the 1960s Consumers Power also had a store here.

Dempsey Ebert was associated with Ebert’s Funeral Home. This was Ebert’s downtown location at 120 N. Clinton Ave. Today it’s Burcham Driving School and before that it was Fairway.

This was their last location on the northeast corner of Walker and Spring Sts. where the Senior Center is located now. It was also Hoag Funeral Home after Ebert’s sold out.

Delbert Clark was born in St. Johns and while in high school worked for the Clinton County Republican News. He spent most of his adult years in the newspaper business and during World War II served with the Fifth Army in Italy.

Judge Leo W. Corkin received his Bachelor of Laws degree from U of M on June 15, 1940. He was a 65th District Court Judge.
