Citizenship Day – Follow up

These were the young ladies that lined the 200 block of N. Clinton Ave. with the township, villages, and city signs on Citizenship Day in 1940 that was celebrated in St. Johns.
Interesting in this photo is the stores in business at that time. From right to left: Conrad Stephan Cigar Mfgr., E. MacKinnon Co., Burk’s Food Market, Strauser’s Restaurant, Bozzo Bros., Bruno’s Restaurant, and Spaulding Hardware which was later Dean’s Hardware.
