In 1973 St. Johns participated in the annual Mayor Exchange Day during Michigan Week by welcoming the mayor and councilman from Mason. Meanwhile St. Johns Mayor; Robert Wood, and Commissioner; John Hannah, were visiting Mason.
Today Mayor Exchange Day is a thing of the past.
