Derby Car Inspection
by Barry Bauer

This photo was taken in 1972 and shows the inspection process on Railroad St. that the Derby cars had to go through before the race started at the head of Clinton Ave.
In the background is “Irish Hill” and the First Church of God on the top-right of the photo is gone. This is where the Catholic Church used to stand. Remnants of the church’s foundation were found when this church in the photo was built. The First Church of God is now located on DeWitt Rd.
