1966 Dairy Couple of the Year

Mr. and Mrs. James Becker of 4952 W. Walker Rd, St. Johns, were named the outstanding young dairy couple at a recent annual meeting of the Ovid Local of the Michigan Milk Producers Assn.
Becker, then 25, farmed 517 acres of land in partnership with his father and brother. Their dairy herd at the time consisted of 54 registered Holstein cows.
Becker attended RBW High School and graduated from MSU in 1962 having majored in dairy production. He and his wife, Janet (Stoy), were members of Farm Bureau. Also shown in the photo is their then 1-1/2 year old daughter, Jill.
