Hybrid Technology training at Baker

Residential Builders and Contractors Prelicensure
Baker’s Business and Corporate Services is offering a new one-day training in “Hybrid Technology” in March.
This course is designed for Service Technicians, Towing and Recovery Professionals, Auto Recyclers, Tech School Instructors, First Responders, and anyone else working in and around Hybrid Electric High Voltage Vehicles. The course focuses on what individuals need to know to safely service these vehicles. Instruction will include both an overview and hands-on training in Baker’s state-of-the-art automotive lab with Baker College of Owosso hybrid lab vehicles. Course content will include types of hybrids, voltage levels, interpreting service information, hybrid service safety, and hybrid battery technology and safety.

Residential Builders and Contractors Prelicensure course
Baker, Business and Corporate Services is offering a Residential Builders and Contractors Prelicensure course beginning in February.
In order to better serve prospective builders, a new course offering of the State of Michigan’s required 60-hour Prelicensure course is being offered in Owosso. The classes prepare participants for residential builder and contractor positions and enhance knowledge of proper practice and technique to those currently employed in residential construction. The Certificate of Completion will entitle successful participants to go forward and take the Residential Builders Exam. The course will run on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:00 p.m. to 10:20 p.m. beginning on February 28, 2011 and ending on March 31, 2011. All classes will be held at Baker, Bentley Campus.
Baker College will certify that participants have met individual parameters as established by the State of Michigan and will issue a certificate verifying completion. Sessions are facilitated by architect Jed Dingens, AIA, LEED AP, NCARB, the owner of Dingens Architects. Mr. Dingens is an Approved Instructor by the State of Michigan for this specific course.
