SJHS Band to perform in Detroit Thanksgiving Day parade

Marching Band continues Performing Arts Tradition
The Marching Redwings will march in the upcoming Thanksgiving Day Detroit parade. This is an event that the band marches in every other year, and it has become an enduring memory for both students and their families.

It has been another banner year for our 144-member marching band. This year’s marching band has had many wonderful opportunities to perform, making the most of each opportunity.
At this year’s MSBOA fall marching band festival hosted by St. Johns High School, our band once again earned straight division I ratings. This came on the heels of an excellent performance at the Grand Ledge Invitational. As always the marching band has been stellar with their half-time performances at this fall’s football games, including the traditional light show after the homecoming game.
The marching band also has had the honor of playing in Michigan State University’s homecoming parade — an honor that requires an invitation.
St. Johns is proud of our marching band and how well they represent the St. Johns community.
