Local bands do well at Festival

All of the St. Johns musical groups received First Division (I) ratings at last Saturday’s Band and Orchestra Festival held in St. Johns. These include the 8th Grade Band, the 8th Grade Orchestra, the 9th Grade Band, the Concert Band, the High School Orchestra and the Symphonic Band. All groups earned straight First Division ratings with the exception of the 8th Grade Band which scored a II in Sight Reading.
Both the St. Johns Middle School Homeschool Orchestra and the High School Homeschool Orchestra each earned First Division (I) ratings.
The Fowler Concert Band earned a Second Division (II) rating as did the Pewamo-Westphalia High School Band.
Carson City-Crystal Middle Schoolers earned a I while the High School earned a Third Division (III) rating.
Both the Bullock Creek 7th and 8th Grade groups earned IIs while their High School Varsity Band earned a I.
The Midland Symphonic Band closed out the day with a straight First Division performance.
