Be a Karate Kid on Tuesday

August 9, 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. at the St. Johns Depot.
If you want to discover the secret of why Martial Arts is the #1 activity for kids, this is where you need to go. You will have a chance to learn some basic Karate moves and to try out an obstacle course, all provided by PKSA Karate of St. Johns.

PKSA (which stands for Professional Karate Schools of America) in St. Johns is part of a large national program with over 24 schools in Michigan alone. Eric and Susan Swanson own and operate PKSA in St. Johns, with Eric serving as the head instructor and Susan managing the business.
They are passionate about the values of Karate, saying, “We strive to be positive role models and give our students a positive outlook on life.” PKSA teaches their students not only the skills necessary to defend themselves and their loved ones, but also skills that are often lost to today’s society, like discipline and respect.
The Karate program on August 9 is part of Tuesday Together Times, sponsored by Kiwanis of St. Johns and coordinated by the Railroad Museum branch of Clinton County Arts Council.
Tuesday Together Times on August 16 will feature a demo of a remote-controlled model airplane, along with small planes for kids to put together and fly; and on August 23, the program will be Bubble Mania! All programs are free.
Clinton County Arts Council Arts Council is supported in part with funds from the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs and the National Endowment for the Arts.
