If you were downtown Tuesday evening July 19, you would have enjoyed seeing the decorated bicycle parade celebrating the beginning of Tuesday Together Times, followed on July 26 by Denise Thelen leading youngsters and adults in an energetic session of ZUMBATOMIC.
Each Tuesday evening, July 19 – August 23, 2011, the railroad branch of the Clinton County Arts Council, is offering a wide variety of games and activities for kids at the St. Johns Depot, with the exception of August 2 when the group will be at National Night Out at the Lutheran Church. On August 16 and 23, there will be the added bonus of face-painting by artist Sharon Shutes, a popular favorite.

Bridget Sible, Sherry Anderson and Keith Richard volunteered from Turning Point.
A big thank you goes to Turning Point Youth Center for their wonderful participation in the kickoff event. They generously donated two brand new bikes as prizes in a drawing from the names of all registered participants. Turning Point staff members, Bridget Sible, Keith Richard and Sherry Anderson helped out throughout: at the registration, the bicycle parade, and with the games following. Thanks also go to Dobie Everts and Carey Harris for their volunteer assistance with games.
The St. Johns Police Department was another tremendous asset: Officer Eric Worrall and Auxiliary Officer Brandon Shellberg led the bicycle parade through town, one in a police cruiser and the other on his bike. On Railroad Street they laid out a challenge course with cones for the kids to try on their bikes. Of special importance were the beautiful brand new bike helmets that the Police Department gave to the children riding in the parade. April Wilson, Administrative Assistant at the department, volunteered to help at the registration by making the helmets were fitted properly on the children.
Tuesday Together Times is being sponsored by the generosity of the Kiwanis Club of St. Johns, following their mission of supporting children and families. It is coordinated by the Clinton County Arts Council.
