Briggs Library News

Bookaholics Book Club and more
The Bookaholics Book Club is not meeting in July, but will resume our monthly trips to Bruno’s Bar on Thursday, August 15 at 7:30pm. When we meet in August, we will be talking about “This Beautiful Life” by Helen Schulman, a topical story about a family torn apart when their 15-year old son receives a private video from a younger admirer, and then sends it to a trusted friend. The novel raises tough questions about child rearing, morality, privacy, and the sacrifices and choices we make in the name of love. Copies of the book are now available at the library circulation desk. All adult patrons ages 21 and up with a valid library card are invited to join.
We’re Off to See the Wizard
Our next Tween program is on Monday, July 29th from 7-8 pm and is inspired by the wonderful “Wizard of Oz.” This promises to be an exciting evening for Tweens (ages 9-12) to play the Wizard of Oz trivia game, enjoy some snacks, and make a fun craft. So be sure to “follow the yellow brick road” to the Library to get acquainted with Dorothy, the Tin Man, Scarecrow, Cowardly lion and of course, the wonderful Wizard of Oz. Registration is required.
