MSU’s Cyclotron to be featured

At Library Foundation Event
The sixth annual “Honors and Authors Night” sponsored by Briggs Library Foundation will take a turn into a new area next month when the featured speaker will discuss the purpose and regional impact of Michigan State University’s cyclotron.
According to Zachary Constan, PhD, Outreach Coordinator for cyclotron activity, graduate student Michael Youngs will be the presenter April 26 when the Briggs Library Foundation holds its sixth special event at the Emerald golf course. Mr. Youngs will address a broad agenda of items related to the cyclotron, highlighting its purpose, operation and impact on the mid-Michigan economy.
“This presentation is a new approach for us,” explained John Sirrine, Foundation President. “While the Honors and Authors Night will continue its recognition of supporters and authors, this is a subject that has local interest and impact. We felt it to be a compelling topic of much local interest.”
During this year’s event, Sirrine will recognize a special donor and detail the support given to the Foundation. The evening will run from 7p to 9p and, as in the past, light refreshments will be served throughout the evening. Invitations will be mailed near the end of March along with a response cards with donation opportunity. Attendance donation is $50.00 per guest.
