Vote Your Choice-Chapter Chatter and more
Which books will make the cut? Which books will make it to the next round? It’s up to the kids! The first week staff will choose a variety of chapter books and read the 1st page of 3 books…kids will secretly vote on which book will be read. Each week we will read the book with the most votes, then move on and vote for the next title to be read.
There will be snacks, a game or craft for them to enjoy and great stories to vote on. This program for ages 6 to 8 is on four Monday evenings, November 7th – November 28th, 7-7:45 pm. Registration is required and begins on Monday, October 10th. We can’t wait to see what books they vote for!
Caroling Kids
Attention kids ages 4-10! Join our Caroling group as we sing songs of the season to greet Santa Claus at our Holiday Programs. Registration is from Oct. 11 to Nov. 1. Required practices will be on Tuesdays, Nov. 1, 8, 15 & 22 from 6:30-7:00. Carolers need to be able to attend at least one of our three Holiday Programs which are on Dec. 1 and 2 from 6-8 and Dec. 3 from 10-noon. Come join the fun and catch the Holiday Spirit!
An Event So Good It’s Scary
Once again this year the Library will be participating in “An Event So Good It’s Scary.” On Halloween, Oct. 31st, from 3:30-5:30 the Library will be handing out treats to children to help promote safe trick-or-treating.
Schwan’s Fundraiser
The Schwan’s truck will be in front of the Briggs Public Library on Wednesday, October 12 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. to assist the library in raising funds for the purchase of a laptop and projector. The equipment will be used to help facilitate outreach programs to area senior residential facilities and for programs at the library like computer literacy classes. There are three ways you can participate in the fundraiser:
1. Purchase items the day of the event.
2. Reserve products online for pick up at the Library the day of the event. Go to www.schwansfundraising.com and use campaign Id: 36543.
3. Order a gift certificate(s) by calling 1-888-SCHWANS, inform the representative you want to purchase a gift card(s) and provide the campaign Id: 36543 or go to www.schwan’s.com, click on the gift card link and follow the directions including entering the campaign Id: 36543. The certificate will ship to address of your choice.
Gift certificates are a great way to help the library and still support your local driver if you are already receiving delivery at your residence. Gift certificates also make great holiday gifts. For additional details on the fundraiser, stop by the library desk or call (989)224-4702.
Library Closures
The Library will be closed on Saturday Nov. 5th for a maintenance project and on Friday Nov. 11th for the Veteran’s Day Holiday. The drop box on the Library porch will be available for returns throughout these closures.
