From Leonard family
Clinton County attorney Shannon Schlegel has announced her recent endorsement from State Representative Tom and Jenell Leonard in her candidacy for Judge of 65A District Court in Clinton County.

“As a former prosecutor, and now as a legislator, I have worked with many District Court Judges in different capacities. Shannon Schlegel embodies every attribute our community needs in a great Judge- Intelligence, hard work, and most importantly, humility. She is the right person for the job,” stated Representative Tom Leonard.
Schlegel has been in private practice for over 12 years and has been in DeWitt for the last 10 years. She has represented every type of case that is handled in District Court. These cases have ranged from civil to criminal representing clients that were plaintiffs and defendants, including individuals, government, and businesses. Her law practice has served clients in Clinton, Eaton, Gratiot, Ingham, Ionia, Livingston, and Shiawassee Counties. Areas of practice include Appellate, Child Welfare, Contract/Civil Litigation, Criminal Law, Estate Planning, Family Law, General Practice, and small Business.
“I am truly honored and humbled to have the support of Tom and Jenell,” said Shannon Schlegel.
Community and public service is not something new for Shannon Schlegel as she is very involved with local government, legal associations, and civic groups. She currently Chairs the Clinton County Planning Commission, served as past secretary for St. Johns Kiwanis, and was recently elected President of the Clinton County Chamber of Commerce.
Public Act 23 of 2013 preserved a 65A District Court judgeship that was slated for elimination in state law, which created the vacancy on the bench in Clinton County.
