Paul Revere and the Raiders have been rocking America for more than 40 years. They were the first rock group to be signed with Columbia Records and were featured on the ABC-TV fives-day-a-week network show “Where the Action Is” produced by Dick Clark. “Paul Revere and the Raiders is the greatest show-band on earth,” said Paul Shaffer, the respected long-time band director of “Late Night With David Letterman.”
Paul Revere and the Raiders had 13 top-40 hit singles throughout 1960s and ’70s, some of which include “Indian Reservation,” “Kicks,” “Good Thing,” “Just Like Me,” “Hungry,” “Mr. Sun, Mr. Moon” and more. The Raiders mix their musical skills and never-ending energy with a high level of comedy.
“In 1999, Paul Revere began a very special relationship with American veterans,” said Carson City Hospital President and CEO Bruce Traverse. “After being approached by several veterans expressing their appreciation for the band’s version of ‘We Gotta Get Outta This Place’ and other Vietnam-era songs, Paul Revere and the Raiders felt they had to do more for veterans who had served our country.”
The result was the creation of the Ride To The Wall Foundation. To raise funds for this veterans’ organization, the following will be available at the concert on August 29: dedicated CDs, t-shirts, and a DVD titled “Operation Thanksgiving,” which was filmed at a live, free concert in Louisiana, where the Raiders performed for 3,500 troops heading for Iraq in 2004.
“The band will recognize and thank for their service to our country all of the American Legion and VFW Posts attending the Summer Dance Party during this year’s event,” said Traverse. “The proceeds from the concert will benefit all five hospitals and the proceeds from the CDs, t-shirts and DVDs will benefit American veterans.”

This year’s tribute performances are exciting! Roy Orbison (“Only the Lonely,”Crying,” “Running Scared,” and “Oh, Pretty Woman.” Cher (“I Got You Babe,” “Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves,” “If I Could Turn Back Time.”) Rod Stewart (“Maggie May,” “Hot Legs,” “Do You Think I’m Sexy,” “Forever Young,” and “Some Guys Have All The Luck.”) Plus a surprise guest star!
This year’s general admission tickets are $30 each. Cash bars and two dance floors will be available during the entire event. General admission tickets are available at each of the sponsoring hospitals and the Soaring Eagle Casino Box Office or call Star Tickets at (800) 585-3737. Each hospital’s share of the proceeds will help purchase new equipment for patients. Sparrow Foundation Children’s Miracle Network proceeds will support the Pediatric Endowment Fund for pediatric sub-specialists.
