August 30
Lowe United Methodist Church is celebrating 125 years in ministry on Sunday, August 30, 2015 at 11:00 am.
Bishop Deborah Lieder-Kiesey, the United Methodist Bishop for the State of Michigan, will be speaking; and special music will be provided from the Lowe Choir and the Findlay Family.
The annual Ice Cream Social is from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Sunday as well.
The 125 year celebration coincides with the recent remodel that the church has undergone.
“We are so excited to have an entrance accessible for all people, new offices, a social hall and kitchen, and we welcome parishioners and community members to use the social hall for gatherings and events,” explains Pastor Kathy Leydorf-Keck.
An open-house on Saturday, August 29th from 1:00 pm- 4:00 pm at Lowe will take place so that everyone can see all of the changes.
“The new addition was a team effort, from the planning process, to the design, and materials selection, a big thank you goes out to the entire Building Committee,” adds Trustee Chair and Project Manager, Matthew Upton.
Lowe United Methodist Church is part of a two-point charge with Maple Rapids United Methodist Church. Services take place at Lowe on Sunday at 11:00 am and at Maple Rapids at 9:00 am. Anyone is welcome to attend, and both churches offer children’s church and a nursery.
