Dr. Brandon Minnick joins SCH staff as General Surgeon
Sparrow Clinton Hospital welcomes David Brandon Minnick, DO, to its physician team. Dr. Minnick, son of St. Johns family practice physician Dr. Paul David Minnick, joins General Surgeon Donald Porter, MD, on staff in SCH Surgical Services.
A 1998 graduate of Michigan State University with a degree in psychology, Dr. Brandon Minnick earned his medical doctorate from the MSU College of Osteopathic Medicine (2006). He completed general surgery preliminary and osteopathic internships at Sparrow Hospital (2006-07), moving on to finish his general surgery residency at the MSU/Kalamazoo Center for Medical Studies.
In addition to general surgery, Dr. Minnick specializes in minimally invasive techniques (laparoscopic) for treatment of GERD, stomach and incisional hernia repair, colon and rectal surgery, and upper GI endoscopy; as well as colonoscopy, and thyroid and parathyroid surgery.
In-office procedures include incision and drainage care, removal of skin tags and cysts, biopsy of soft tissue masses, wound care, and anorectal treatment.
Drs. Porter and Minnick have offices in the Sparrow Clinton Hospital Professional Building at 901 S. Oakland Street in St. Johns.
