Doug Main and the City Folk perform at Concert in the Park

Wednesday, July 17
Doug Main and the City Folk has been described as a “pensive troubadour backed by classical strings, modern accordion, and dynamic percussion.”
It’s an accurate portrayal of the Lansing area band that’s been creating a buzz locally and around the Midwest since its formation in 2008.

The ultra-talented group of musicians bring their rich, smooth sound and truly original indie-folk spirit to the St. Johns City Park Performance Shell July 17 for the weekly Concert in the Park summer series. There is no admission charge for the show that begins at 7 p.m.
Main is the “pensive troubadour” singer/songwriter who uses his guitar to full effect in creating wonderful American music with folk influences. He is joined by an extraordinary set of classically trained musicians: Kim Wren, playing upright bass and accompanying vocals; Josh Michels on cello and accordion; percussionist Rob Germeroth; and Kelly Pond, vocals and violin.
The band is finishing up its second, full-length album that follows the successful debut of “The Mountain’s King.”
