
The Speedway station at the corner of M-21 and Scott Road was the site of an armed robbery early Tuesday morning.
Two St. Johns teens were arrested early Tuesday morning following an armed robbery at the Speedway gas station located at Scott Road and M-21 in Bingham Township.
Chase Cantrell, 19, and Tyler Minarik, 17, are charged with armed robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery and using a gun while committing a felony.
Clinton County authorities were called to the gas station at about 12:24 a.m. There they were told that two men wearing masks held up the clerk at gunpoint and fled the scene with a small amount of cash and cigarettes.
Deputies and a Lansing K-9 unit followed the suspects to a home on South Kibbee Street in St. Johns. There they arrested the two subjects. The money, gun and cigarettes were recovered during a search of the house.
The suspects were arraigned Wednesday in 65th District Court.
Police from Lansing, St. Johns, Ovid and Elsie assisted Clinton County Sheriff’s Office.
Both suspects are being held without bond at the Clinton County Jail.
