The Fourth Annual
On August 6, 2010, from 10 pm till 7 am Teens Dance For Those Who Can’t dance-a-thon will bring together area high school students to not only raise money, but to also promote community-wide awareness of R.A.V.E. Teens Dance For Those Who Can’t dance-a-thon 2010 will be a 9-hour fun-filled event with a goal of raising $12,000.
Teens Dance For Those Who Can’t dance-a-thon 2010 is an event hosted by REMIX, a St. Johns area Christian teen group supported by the St. Johns Ministerial Association.
Each year the group decides on a charity to which we will donate proceeds. This year the teens have decided on Relief After Violent Encounter, Inc. (R.A.V.E.), St. Johns. This charity is currently trying to raise funds for a new safe house. They are also hoping to get educational material into the Clinton County schools to teach students how not to get into abusive relationships.
Various teens are out in the community NOW raising money for R.A.V.E. and collecting donations from local businesses. You will notice them by their dance-a-thon t-shirts. Also, the St. Johns Locale magazine had a feature article on the dance-a-thon in the newly released issue.
Our past accomplishments include raising over $5000 for the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society in 2007, over $8000 for the Clinton County chapter of CAN (Council to Prevent Abuse and Neglect) in 2008 and over $5000 for the Michigan Chapter of Candlelighters, Childhood Cancer.
This Dance-a-thon offers a unique opportunity for you to not only contribute to R.A.V.E, but also to hopefully build some relationships with our area teenagers by supporting them in this endeavor. We appreciate any contributions, monetary or otherwise, you have provided for our dance-a-thon in the past, and hope that you can be a part of this endeavor again this year. We will publicly thank and promote our sponsors announcing you or your business during the dance-a-thon, by using posters at the event and on our float in the Mint Festival Parade. We hope to build strong partnerships with sponsoring organizations and companies through this annual event.
