18th annual
Clinton County Pheasants Forever will hold its 18th annual fund-raising banquet on Saturday, March 12 at the Most Holy Trinity Activity Center in Fowler. Pheasants Forever can only continue to offer habitat, youth programs and other services to Clinton County with public support.
There will be chances to win guns, art work, collectibles, a South Dakota Hunt, a canoe and other outdoor merchandise.
An important element to Pheasants Forever’s continued success over the last 17 years is the ability to keep all proceeds generated from the banquet. The only money sent to the national office is the annual membership dues.
Developing habitat is a large part of what Pheasants Forever does locally for its members. In 2010, Pheasants Forever developed over 350 acres with grasses and food plots. Due to rising seed cost, banquet attendees will be given priority with seed distribution.
Orders for seed and food plots services will be offered at the banquet. A habitat specialist from the local county offices will also be on hand to answer questions.
Working with youth on outdoor education continues to be a large part of the Clinton County chapter’s focus. The ninth annual youth day held at Motz Park in September attracted 65 kids with a day of outdoor activities. Pheasants Forever launched its National “No Child Left Indoors” program in 2009.
Michigan has a full-time Pheasants Forever youth coordinator made possible through private donations. The state council of Pheasants Forever has also purchased a trailer used for youth education that travels around the state for youth events.
