Forte International Exchange Association is searching for interested host families to participate in the program in the Michigan area, specifically Clinton County high schools including: Bath, Dewitt, Ovid-Elisie, Pewamo Westphalia, Fowler, and St. John.
The organization has students from all over the world including: Germany, China, Korea, Thailand, Norway, Italy, and many more.
All of the students have been pre-screened and selected for their English proficiency and academics. Students are also insured and bring their own spending money. Host families are responsible for providing the student with their own bed, meals, and a safe and loving environment.
These high school students arrive in mid to late August to study at a local American high school for either one semester or full school year. During their stay in the States, exchange students live with a host family to experience American culture. The host family can also learn about the culture and customs of the country where the exchange student hails from. The purpose behind the program is to promote cultural exchange between all parties involved.
FIEA is a nonprofit organization designated by the State Department to sponsor international high school students to participate in exchange programs.
If you or someone you know is interested in hosting, please contact Jennifer K. Emmendorfer at 989-284-0375 or email: jenns.exchange@gmail.com
