Aw Shucks

image.jpgIt sure is going to be corny at Fun Family Fridays on July 30. That’s right – mosey on down to the depot in downtown St. Johns and enjoy munching on a fresh ear of Andy T’s famous “gourmet corn” while you enjoy Karate activities on the lawn.
Eric Swanson, head instructor and owner of PKSA Karate, will have an obstacle course set up for the kids and will teach some of the basics of Karate to all who are interested. The fresh, hot corn will be available starting at 5:30 pm, with the Karate activities starting at 6:00.
The corn, generously donated by Andy T, is priced at a “pirate’s ransom” of just a “Buck an Ear”. All proceeds from your purchase will go to the Clinton County Arts Council to help with the restoration of the old train cars.

The Karate activities and corn will be followed by music near the gazebo at 7:00 pm. This week’s music is provided by Rick Woods. Rick plays guitar and sings popular songs for your toe-tappin’ pleasure – including some train-related songs.
There is plenty of room for the kids to romp and play on the depot lawn. Time permitting, some”corny” old time games will be played.
Fun Family Fridays are coordinated by Clinton County Arts Council, which receives some of its funding from the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs and the National Endowment for the Arts. Funds have also been donated for these summer evening activities by the Rotary Club of St. Johns and Always Charming.
Join us for Fun Family Friday July 30 from 6-8 PM at the depot in St. Johns.
