Does a bear live in there? What does the deer fear?
Come, Find out all you want to know about Great Lakes Mammals. See Yas Ennya Oyaka in person at Fun Family Fridays Aug. 13, inside the Depot in St. Johns at 6PM.
Dressed as a mountain man in his big black hat with feather and fake bearskin cape, he will sneak quietly in his moccasins and steal your rapt attention.
Yas has been doing sharing sessions for over 24 years. He will engage many of your senses, from his dress, (sight) to smell (likes garlic), touch (as he engages the audience) and his deep gruff voice (sound). Expanding awareness of our environment is an essential addition to our everyday life. Yas provides valuable teachings of the rich ecosystem of the Midwest United States and its inhabitants. He is only here for one night to share with you. Don’t miss this wonderful opportunity.
Please note that the Downtown Mint Festival will also be starting at 6:00 pm in the depot area that night, with a large tent west of the depot and a car show along Railroad Street between Clinton and Spring Street and the third block of Clinton Avenue. We suggest people park in the lot on the east side of the depot, or further east along Railroad Street. The depot and historic rail cars will be open starting at 5:00, so come early.
Fun Family Fridays is sponsored by The Clinton County Arts Council.
The Clinton County Arts Council receives a portion of its funding from the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs and the National Endowment for the Humanities. Trek on down for an evening of fun.
