Habitat for Humanity of Clinton County is a Christian housing ministry with the goal of eliminating substandard housing in our community. Our purpose is to provide a “hand up” not a “hand out,” by building homes with volunteer labor for families who could not otherwise afford to own a home. It is our plan to build a decent, affordable and safe home beginning in Spring 2011 in the village of Ovid.
To qualify, applicants must currently be living in inadequate housing, such as poor living conditions, overcrowding or cost-burdened. They must be a resident of Clinton County, and be willing to partner with Habitat by working on their house and other projects. Applicants must be considered low income, meet minimum and maximum income criteria and have a satisfactory credit history.
To learn more about this great opportunity informational meetings will be held in Ovid at the United Church of Ovid, 131 Front Street, on Thursday, January 20 at 7 pm and Saturday, January 22 at 10 am.
The deadline for submitting applications is January 31, 2011. Those interested in the program should call Sue Carroll at 989-227-1771 to register for the meeting or for additional information and an application.
