Habitat will do the heavy lifting for you

During the St. Johns Spring Clean-Up this year, why not let Habitat do the heavy lifting for you. In conjunction with the city-wide annual Spring Clean-Up, volunteers at the Habitat ReStore are offering assistance to city residents who want to get those no longer needed but reusable items out of the basement, the attic and the garage but who do not want to place items at curbside for pick up.
Instead of hauling your major appliances, furniture, cabinets, or vanities to the curb, let the Habitat ReStore pick it up for you. You get a tax deduction for your donation and also avoid reusable items going to a landfill.
The ReStore sells donated merchandise at deeply discounted prices, with the proceeds supporting the mission of Habitat for Humanity of Clinton County of providing decent, affordable homes to those living in inadequate housing. Beginning in late June this year, Habitat will begin building a home in Ovid for a local Clinton County family.
Residents who wish to take advantage of this offer may come to Walgreens between 10 AM and noon on Saturday, May 7, where ReStore volunteers will be available to answer questions and schedule pick-ups for the week of May 9. Appointments can also be scheduled by calling the ReStore at (989) 227-0000 or stopping by the ReStore, located at 2352 N. US 127, during business hours (Tues/Wed/Fri 10 AM to 5 PM; Thurs 10 AM to 7 PM; and Sat 10 AM to 2 PM).
The ReStore has an ongoing need for volunteers to provide customer service, clean and organize merchandise, answer phones, place merchandise onto the sales floor, help run the cash register, assist with the pick up of donations and delivery of sold merchandise, and much more.
Volunteers can commit to partial or full day shifts Tuesday through Saturday, on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. By volunteering at the ReStore, you can support Habitat for Humanity of Clinton County while encouraging your community to recycle, reuse, and repurpose.
