Habitat for Humanity of Clinton County plans to build at least one decent, affordable and safe home in 2012. The site will be determined in the next few months.
To qualify, applicants must currently have a need for adequate housing. They must be a resident of Clinton County, and be willing to partner with Habitat by working on their house and other projects. Applicants must be considered low income, meet minimum and maximum income criteria and have a satisfactory credit history.
To learn more about this great opportunity, informational meetings will be held at the Habitat offices, located at 2352 N. US 27, St. Johns, on Thursday, January 19 at 7 pm and Saturday, January 21 at 10 am.
Pre-applications will be accepted through January 30, 2012. Once qualified through the pre-application process, full applications will be given out with a deadline of February 15, 2012.
Habitat for Humanity of Clinton County is a Christian housing ministry with the goal of eliminating substandard housing in our community. Our purpose is to provide a “hand up” not a “hand out,” by building homes with volunteer labor and selling the home at cost to a family who could not otherwise afford to own a home.
Those interested in the program should call Sue Carroll at 989-227-1771 to register for the meeting or for additional information and an application.
