Thursday, October 10
Habitat for Humanity of Clinton County will host its first annual Dream Builders Banquet on Thursday, October 10 beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the Dell Banquet Center in St. Johns. The Dream Builders Banquet will honor hundreds of volunteers who selflessly contribute to the mission of Habitat for Humanity in Clinton County.
Through the power of its volunteers, Habitat for Humanity builds homes for low income residents who also contribute significant “sweat equity” to the home’s construction. They then purchase the home with special low interest loans.
According to Habitat’s executive director Sue Carroll, “Most Habitat families never thought they could become homeowners. But with hard work and the amazing support of our Clinton County volunteers, families are able to take the first critical step out of poverty and begin building equity as homeowners.
Becoming a Habitat homeowner can transform the future for a local family. Our volunteers love doing this work because they know what a difference a Habitat home can make in a family’s life.”
The Dream Builders Banquet will recognize volunteers who have made exceptional contributions during the last calendar year with an awards ceremony will be recognized and will receive awards during the banquet. The banquet will also feature a silent auction will also be held during the event to raise money for future Habitat home-building projects.
WLNS morning news anchor Evan Pinsonnault will be the master of ceremonies for the Dream Builders event. Tickets are $10 per attendee. A cash wine and beverage bar will be sponsored and hosted by Uncle John’s Cider Mill starting at 5:30. Dinner begins at 6:30 with the Awards Ceremony at 7:30.
