Preparing for the Homecoming Dance

With an album by Maralyn Fink

After the parade, I headed to the High School Gym Friday evening. There I met with the Student Council members and Mr. Jason Gnegy.
The work began after the Football game half-time and ran until midnight. If more time was needed, the members would return on Saturday at 10am.
Soon, boxes were unloaded and the decorating began. Work was done in groups with lots of laughing along with music playing in the background and yes maybe a moment or two of some dancing. I was able to “help out” with readying of the table decorations. I could see that their theme of “Defying Gravity” would be an awesome decorated theme.
This group of 30 members with Jason Gnegy, Advisor, worked very hard that night and soon things were taking shape.
After snapping my pictures and conversation with the group it was time for me to leave. After all, I had a dance to prepare for the following evening.
A lot of work goes on inside the scenes which this group grasped with all their might hoping that this year’s dance would be a real success. For me, I had not a doubt in my mind that it would be exactly that.
In closing, on behalf of Jason Gnegy and the Student Council, he would like to thank Mr. John Cheeney for all of his hard work in creating and making the Court backdrop, his help with the “Spheres” and for his time in everything he did for the group.
