Leonard named to list of top rising conservative leaders

State Rep. Tom Leonard
The American Conservative Union recently named state Rep. Tom Leonard to its top “10 under 40” list of promising young conservative leaders.
This is the second year in a row that a Michigan legislator has been named to the ACU’s list. Last year, Rep. Lisa Posthumus Lyons, R-Alto, was also tapped as a rising conservative leader.
“The conservative values of limited government and economic freedom are the foundation of our great nation,” said Leonard, R-DeWitt Township. “I am honored to be included on this list of up-and-coming conservative leaders, and I will continue to search for real solutions to the problems that are facing Michigan today.”
State Reps. Eric Burlison, Paul Curtman and Casey Guernsey of Missouri were also among the top 10 rising leaders in 2013, as well as state Rep. Tyler August of Wisconsin and Milwaukee Board Supervisor Deanna Alexander.
The “10 under 40” have been invited to speak at the 2013 regional Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in St. Louis, Mo. on September 28.
