More about the bridge
Who actually gains from Governor Snyder’s plan for a publicly-sponsored bridge to Canada? How many times will a vote be taken? What type of payoff is being offered to your representatives for a “Yes” vote on the Detroit River International Crossing Bridge?
If Canada benefits from the crossing, why doesn’t Canada pay for it instead of lending Michigan the dollars? We have been told that tolls will pay for the Bridge. Let’s face the facts. That statement was made about the Mackinaw Bridge. Michigan taxpayers have paid millions of dollars for Mackinaw Bridge maintenance.
Why does Governor Snyder want to keep the public bridge option open when a private party will build it? Taxpayers will not benefit. The people’s’ voice has spoken a loud “no.” In my opinion, if the bill for the International Crossing passes, it will be because those supporting it are benefiting. Their payback may be from appointments to congress, congressional committees, or even monetary gain.
Citizens should contact their representatives one more time. Tell them you want this boondoggle ended once and forever.
