Good catch, Alice
When she wrote in to tell us of the death of her husband, Ralph Atkinson, Alice Atkinson also took issue with Paul Martis concerning a Mystery Photo.
She wrote: “I’m just checking. As I recall Wight Street in St. Johns, Michigan was a north – south street. Thus, the mystery house in last week’s picture is not located at 401 West Wight Street. Right?”
You are right, Alice. There isn’t even a North or South Wight, much less a West Wight. Wight starts at Cass. The corresponding street heading north would be Spring Street. The house is located at 401 Wight. Just plain Wight.
Church Street on the other side of the Wilson Center is the same. There is no North or South Church. It is just Church Street.
