Have you ever wondered how ham radio works? And thanks for the toys
Donnie Osmond, William Sherman, and Patty Loveless have something in common. All three are active in ham radio, and each have their own call sign. And only one of the three will be in Clinton County discussing the fascinating world of communication known as ham or amateur radio.
That would be William “Bill” Sherman. Bill spent ten years in the military both here and abroad, working in high speed data communications and communication security. He was also stationed at the Defense Department’s sponsored Military Auxiliary Radio System (MARS) headquarters. He is extremely qualified to explain this emergency form of communication.
Have you ever wondered how ham radio works? Would you like to hold the equipment in your hands, and watch a live demonstration? Then don’t miss William Sherman’s timely and informative demonstration of amateur radio.
In an emergency when cellphone circuits are overloaded and electrical power has been out for days, ham radio still works. Prepare yourself for the emergency you hope never occurs.
William Sherman will be the featured speaker at the Riley Township Hall, 7110 W. Pratt Rd., DeWitt, MI on Tuesday January 14th, 2014. Doors open at 6:30, and meeting begins at 7:00.

Toys for Tots thank you
The Clinton County Chamber of Commerce, the sponsoring organization for Toys for Tots in Clinton County would like thank everyone that donated to the 2013 campaign.
Over 2000 toys were collected and distributed to children from Clinton County.
Special thanks to Darlene, Liz and Karen for helping with toy distribution and pick ups and to the St. Johns Rotary Club. Each year their club donates a large amount of gift cards that allows us to purchase specific items that kids are asking for that are not received through the collection boxes. This club goes above and beyond each year.
Thank you again,
Brenda Terpening
