CASA is thankful
Thankfulness and gratitude are the themes this time of the year. CASA-The Voice for Clinton County’s Children has many reasons to be thankful as we reflect on our inaugural year of service on behalf of children who are involved in court proceedings due to abuse or neglect.
—Gracious support from so many in the community including service clubs, local businesses, wonderful landlords, Department of Human Services, Clinton County Probate Court, and community partners.
—Dedicated community volunteers who have stepped forward to serve as CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) Volunteers working with children involved in the court system due to abuse or neglect.
—Committed community members who have created a strong working Board of Directors.
—Generous support from grant funders, service clubs, businesses, and private donors who have provided monetary support and donated items.
Our CASA Advocates are appointed to cases in which children have been removed from their homes. While family’s circumstances vary, the common factor is children coping with traumatic experiences and face significant instability in their lives. We are currently serving approximately 20% of Clinton County’s children who have been removed from their homes due to abuse or neglect.
As much as our program is thankful for our accomplishments and we reflect on the blessings in our own lives, we cannot ignore the fact not all Clinton County children have stable, permanent homes. During our first year we have experienced the positive impact of Clinton County’s first CASA Advocates—all children deserve the best efforts our community can provide supporting stable homes. CASA-The Voice for Clinton County’s Children is on the front line to afford all children safe, permanent homes.
Our advocacy work has just begun. We need you. As you consider what you are thankful for keep in mind children who need permanency and stability in their lives.
Your gift will make a positive, local impact. Thank you for considering a gift to support CASA Advocacy work. YOU are providing a voice for children in Clinton County who have experienced abuse or neglect.
With Gratitude,
