Celebrations and thanks
Wanda Humphrey celebrates
A birthday celebration for 85-year-old Wanda Humphrey was the excuse for an invigorating parasail with best friend George Zambo, 88, over Grand Traverse Bay.
“It was on my bucket list,” Wanda said with a smile.
The couple spend their summers in Elk Rapids and winter in Florida.

Thank you for the opportunity of serving on the Clinton County Board of Commissioners for four years.
We have accomplished much new and have continued many very appropriate policies begun in previous years.
It has been my pleasure to serve. I wish the best for the new Board.

Family Fun coordinators say thanks
On behalf of the Clinton County Arts Council and the Clinton Northern Railway I want to thank the many, many people who contributed to the success of this summer’s Fun Family Fridays venture.
We received terrific support from downtown businesses, the Rotary Club, Turning Point Youth Center, Sparrow Clinton Hospital, Andy T’s, PKSA Karate, Clinton County Waste Management, Face Painting by Sharon, and the St. Johns Police Department. We would like to particularly thank the restaurants that participated in both of the progressive dinners: The Mint, Main Street Café, Main Street Pizza and Cindy’s Ice Cream.
We also want to thank the following businesses for the great prizes they donated to our Scavenger Hunt drawing on August 27: Dershey’s Café; Woodbury’s Flower Shop; The Emerald Golf Course; Harr’s Jewelry; Rehmann’s; The Country Store; Impressions Salon; Main Street Pizza; Clinton Electronics – Radio Shack; Uncle John’s Cider Mill; and Main Street Café.
The musicians who volunteered their talents made each evening complete: the Sidekicks with Bill Brown; the Silo Singers; Taylor Fernandez and Robert Edwards; Scrambled Eggs; John Kelly and Dawn Artman; Rick Woods; the Mint City Jammers (twice); Bethany Perkins and ¡Nacho Bidness!
And an especially big thank you to the St Johns community for making the first ” Fun Family Fridays series” a success!
