Frank Jilka celebrates 87th near The Birds
Mark and I took my dad to Bodega Bay on Saturday for lunch to celebrate his 87th birthday.
Steve Jilka adds: “Remember The Birds, Alfred Hitchcock’s famous thriller? My sister and her husband took my dad the The Tides Restaurant in Bodega Bay for his 87th birthday. You’ll remember this spot was where all the locals took refuge in the first BIG bird attack.
Our table was by the window, the tide was low, and there were a LOT of birds in Bodega Harbor. We commented that it was no wonder Hitchcock chose this spot to film The Birds. We are still trying to find Mitch Brenner’s house.
