Michael Trebesh deserves the Clinton County Tea Party endorsement
My wife Connie and I are proud to know Mike Trebesh. Mike has earned the Clinton County TEA Party Endorsement. He deserves that endorsement. We have seen first-hand how he conducts himself in many different situations such as the one on Tuesday, July 10 at the Clinton County Tea Party’s 93rd District Candidate forum. His display of integrity that evening is an example for all citizens, young and old.
Mike had opportunity to bring in supporters from outside the district for the sole purpose of voting at the Straw Poll. He chose not to do so. In fact during the Westphalia July 4th Parade while I was marching with a group supporting Michael Trebesh, I asked a fellow marcher, “are you coming to our 93rd District Candidate Forum?” The gentleman replied that he had not heard about it. Later that afternoon I asked Mike why he was not telling his supporters about the Tea Party Forum so that they could come hear him and the other candidates speak. His reply was that he did not want to bias the vote. At the time I did not think much about his statement. It was only at the Forum that I fully understood what he was saying.
I saw people arrive at the Tea Party Forum, say a few words of small talk, cast a vote and then leave. One fellow said that he lived in Eaton County. He was one that voted and left prior to the forum with no interest in hearing the candidates. The color and logos on the shirts said it all. They were there only to vote for a particular candidate. Granted it was just a straw pol,l but obviously some of the candidates took it very seriously.
Mike did not play that game. With this display of honor and honesty his constituents will always know what to expect. I say “good for you Mike; you live by your words.” We can’t ask for more than that from the person we hope to send to Lansing as our 93rd District Representative. Mike definitely keeps reaffirming our belief in him and his values.
