Former St. Johns resident Janet Kloeckner Halfmann will sign her newest book, “Star of the Sea: A Day in the Life of a Starfish,” 2-5 pm Saturday, Aug 27, at Schulers Books & Music, 1982 W. Grand River Ave, Meridian Mall, Okemos. She also will sign other favorites, including “Good Night, Little Sea Otter” and “Fur and Feathers.” She will conduct an interactive “Star of the Sea” story time at 3:30 pm. The event is free and open to the public.
Halfmann is an award-winning children’s author who strives to make her books come alive for young readers and listeners. She has written more than thirty fiction and nonfiction books.
Before becoming a children author, Halfmann was a daily newspaper reporter, children’s magazine editor, and a creator of coloring and activity books for Golden Books. She is the mother of four and the grandmother of four. When Halfmann isn’t writing, she enjoys gardening, exploring nature, visiting living history museums, and spending time with her family. She grew up on a farm near St. Johns, Michigan, and now lives in Wisconsin.
Signed copies of Halfmann’s books also are available at the Clinton County Arts Council Art Gallery in downtown St. Johns.
