Looking ahead to August
The Mint Festival Steering Committee will soon begin planning the 30th Annual St. Johns Mint Festival and additional Committee members are needed.
The Committee needs individuals to help in the following areas:
Entertainment – during the Mint Festival weekend you would make sure entertainers get to and from parking to the entertainment venues and make sure entertainers are introduced when they begin to perform. Your committee would make sure to have volunteers on hand after evening concerts to golf cart shuttle attendees back to their vehicles and your committee would ensure the performance shell is closed up each night.
Environmental – this committee does the set up and tear down for the festival in regards to trash barrels, canopies, picnic tables and other seating, and any moving and putting up of saw horses, caution tape, etc. During the weekend this committee coordinates all trash/recycling pick up.
Pageant – the pageant will take place the Tuesday before the festival on August 5. This committee coordinates everything leading up to the pageant, judges, decorations, practices, etc. and is responsible the night of the pageant to oversee everything. This committee secures enough volunteers to coordinate each of the age groups, to arrange the judges, etc.
