Barry apparently tried to pull a fast one on our readers this week by publishing another photo of the house at 504 E. Higham St., but he couldn’t fool the Maier family.
A former resident of the house, Terry Maier, wrote: The house is located at 504 E. Higham St. The Clare Maier family lived there from about1962 until the late 80’s or early 90’s. Clare and his construction crew remodeled the kitchen area with handmade cupboards. He used the barn/garage in back for storing equipment. The woodwork was great in the old house. Great place to grow up. There were small leaded glass windows above the front living room window that I remember hitting a woofle ball and cracking one and my mom being extremely angry. (Is it any wonder why?)
His brother, Tim, adds: This is where I grew up. My parents Clare and Rita Maier owned it. Not sure who owns it now. Lots of GREAT Memories. I would love to walk thru it and just spend some time there again….The House that Built ME. Love it and thanks for posting it.
