Vera Beth Dennison
Vera Beth Dennison, age 81, of Ovid, MI passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at Memorial Healthcare, Owosso, MI surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral Services will be held at Grace Bible Church, Owosso, MI on Friday, May 13, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. Pastor Roger Rose will officiate. Burial will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery, Ovid, MI. Visitation will be held on Thursday May 12, 2011 from 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes Jennings-Lyons Chapel, Owosso, MI and on Friday, May 13, 2011 from 11-1 PM at Grace Bible Church, Owosso, MI.
Vera was born in Ovid, Michigan on June 13, 1929, the daughter of Ward and Vesta (Mulder) Hathaway. She was a graduate of Ovid High School and resided most of her life in Ovid. Vera married Ronald Dennison on December 6, 1947 in Ovid, MI. Vera enjoyed gardening, cooking, canning and loved flowers. She also loved cats, having many as pets over the years. Spending time with her family was a very important part of her life. Vera was a very active member of Grace Bible Church in Owosso.
She is survived by her husband Ronald Dennison of Ovid, MI, son Bob and Pat Dennison of Owosso, MI, daughter Sue Dennison of Ovid, MI, son Ken and Cindy Dennison of Ovid, MI, daughter Debbie Dennison-Guerrera-Schaar of Ovid, MI, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, brother Clare Hathaway of Owosso, MI, and many nieces and nephews. Vera was preceded in death by her parents Ward Hathaway and Vesta Wyrick, step-father Ward Wyrick, daughter Ann Lynette Dennison-Riley, and brother Earl Hathaway.
Memorials may be made to Grace Bible Church. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes Jennings-Lyons Chapel, Owosso, MI Owosso, Michigan.


Luella E. Jacobus
Luella E. Jacobus died Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at the age of 97. She was born October 15, 1913 in Columbia, IL the daughter of Fred J. and Clara (Beck) Meyer and has lived in St. Johns since 1964. She was a retired J.C. Penney associate and a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church. Luella married Howard W. Jacobus on September 25, 1948 in St. Louis, MO and he preceded her in death in 2008.
Surviving are three sons, Allen of Eureka, MI, William of Wachula, FL and Steven (Pam) of Rudyard, MI; two grandchildren Elizabeth and William.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday, May 13, 2011 at St. Johns Lutheran Church with The Rev. Dr. Bryan R. Salminen officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Rest Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends 2-4 and 6-8 PM Thursday at Keck-Coleman Funeral Home, St. Johns. Memorials may be made to the St. Johns Lutheran Church.


Robert Lewis Waggoner

Robert Lewis Waggoner died May 5, 2011, at the age of 70. Born on February 24, 1941, in Shiawassee County. The son of Lucille (Sanders) England. Robert married Kaye Eckert on June 17, 1983, in Durand, Michigan and she survives him.
Robert is also survived by his brother, Bruce (Kathy) Newell , children, Nathan D. Waggoner, Tod E. Waggoner, Jeanette L. Waggoner-Fureigh, Steve R. Eckert II, Kimberly (David) Hanvey , grandchildren; Kierstin E. Fureigh, Jessica A. Fureigh, Hunter L. Fureigh, Anthony J. Hanvey, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Robert was preceded in death by his Step-father, Carl England and mother, Lucille England.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 9, 2011, with Rev. Melvin Rhodes officiating at The Osgood Funeral Homes in St. Johns. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 9 a.m.-11 a.m., at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Robert’s name to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
